Coldingham Moor is under threat
Developers want to build 22 wind turbines on either side of the A1107, each measuring 76 metres high.
STAG says this is the wrong location for a wind farm.
· This is a designated tourist route – how long will we keep our tourists if the countryside is industrialised and scenery destroyed?
· It would be unsafe – driver distraction would be inevitable.
· It will be destructive to the environment.
· The homes of those on the moor will be dominated by these enormous structures and peace and tranquility of the moor will be destroyed.
· We will all suffer during the estimated 14 months of construction. Developers say almost 12,000 vehicle loads will be required. These will pass our homes daily, clogging and polluting our small roads. Every resident and tourist in Coldingham and many of those in Reston, Eyemouth, Ayton, St Abbs and surrounding areas will be affected.
