The PMR ES Addendum states that NATS En-Route Ltd (NERL), responsible for safeguarding aeronautical radio stations which support en-route services and operating the St Abs DVOR/DMA at Cross Law to the north east of the proposed wind farm site had expressed concerns concerning the wind farm’s impact on navigational signal quality. They also identified a co-sited radio communications facility which would have its safeguarding criteria infringed. PMR report that they worked with NERL to microsite the turbines, but they have not had formal notification that the design has reduced cumulative impact to levels acceptable to NERL. Furthermore, since working with NERL, it appears PMR has had to re-site nine of the 22 turbines due to other constraints. (PMR ES Adendum 13.11)
